Please be wary of the following site:
www.timeshareconsumergroup.us
We are obviously not affiliated with Timeshare Rescue or their TCG in any way. Unfortunately, our name could not be copyrighted due to a legal hiccup, so consumers will simply need to prepare themselves to make the appropriate choice.
www.timeshareconsumergroup.org is the official TCG home.
Also note that we have always been and will always be the Timeshare CONSUMER Group, not "Consumers," in the plural.
As I said, please be wary.
* Update: this has also been blogged about elsewhere:

Wow.
Sorry to hear about this, although this impostor site clearly has a different goal and pales in comparison to this community. |

Indeed. You guys should have filed for a trademark! That would have made such issues much easier.
That having been said, I think most consumers will be able to tell the difference between this group and the other. There's really no comparison. The other one isn't finished yet, though, I wonder what it will look like when complete. |

Thanks for that article, it should set the record straight.
I just got an email regarding this, too. There should be no confusion, although some folks are still likely to get confused because of the name. |

| Yeah, I got the email, too. Sorry to hear about this, but then, there are a lot of sharks out there, and you guys provide a real service. |

| Thanks guys. I agree that they pale in comparison and seem to have very different goals. I'll keep you posted. |

| The comments at street talk make some rather lofty claims, don't they? Geez, this business is cut-throat. |

Yes, I have seen that. It is a shame the way misinformation gets around. |

| Well, I notice the industry resource links have changed. That's good, some of the associations always bothered me; not because of problems with said links, but because I like how the TCG is an unbiased source. S'all good. |

Yeah, this works. We're going to be making some other changes as well soon, hopefully. |

| Have you contacted them about the name collision? Anyway, that site looks very much like a scam. It has close to zero information. Just a phone number to reel you in. |

Good point, thanks for the support.
There is no point in contacting them, "Timeshare Consumer Group" is not our trademark (though I have attempted to make it so, there are legalities involved there I cannot surmount). But, due to the very reasons you describe above there should be NO mistaking one site for the other. |
